Common WordPress Website Management Services Questions
What is included in your WordPress website management packages?
At the core, our WordPress website management packages include regular updates and maintenance to keep your site running smoothly. We also provide unlimited maintenance and enhancements for content updates or bug fixes in the Professional Package and up.
We always provide quality assurance testing before making changes on your live website and quick communication and support from our team.
What if I want the Basic Package, but need additional support or maintenance?
You can add on a WordPress Maintenance Package in increments of 12, 24, and 96 hours. This is the most efficient way to hire us for additional support or maintenance, as you’ll get a 10–20% discount for paying upfront.
You can also pay-as-you-go if that’s easier at our full rate.
How can I get started with your WordPress website management services?
To get started, Schedule a Free Consult Call to discuss your website. We’re happy to help, and will work with you to get set up with a simple, worry-free WordPress Website Maintenance plan. And we’ll always be here to provide expert support whenever needed. So why wait? Get started today!
Do you take a backup of our website before you make updates?
Absolutely! We’ll set up regular WordPress backups of your site, often more than once daily. This means that if something does go wrong, your site can be restored instantly.
If you work with WP Engine, our preferred hosting partner, your backups will be stored there. If you have a different hosting provider like HostGator or Bluehost, we’ll use a time-tested WordPress plugin like UpdraftPlus or a similar plugin to store backups in a shared cloud storage folder.
Ensuring your WordPress website is appropriately backed up is one of the first things we’ll do in your onboarding process and is included in every package.
Do you fix common WordPress errors as a part of our package?
While WordPress is easy to use, some common errors can make you panic. The good thing is that the WordPress error you see on your site has most likely been reported and resolved by someone before you. At Structure, we have seen almost every WordPress error under the sun and are prepared to resolve it quickly for you.
If you are on our Business Website Management Package, you’ll have up to 2 hours per month of additional support that could be used to fix common WordPress errors. If you’re on our Essentials plan, you can add Specialized Development or an Add-on WordPress Maintenance Package to your plan at any time to hire our help resolving common WordPress errors.
Why do I need WordPress website maintenance services? Can’t I do it myself?
Yes, you can do it yourself! Many business owners and marketing leaders decide this route, especially if they’re starting or have a simple website. However, as your business grows, traffic skyrockets, and orders increase, you will run into more routine issues. Not to mention, a simple problem could cost you a lot of money!
That’s why having expert WordPress support from Structure means you won’t need time to figure it out yourself. You’ll have an expert support team that handles it for you—and you don’t even have to think about it!
What’s included in our WordPress Website Management Services monthly report?
We’ll send you a monthly message in our project platform with full transparency into updates, uptime, backups, traffic, performance, and more. Your plan will determine exactly what’s included in your report.
Can’t I use a free plugin for WordPress website updates? Why hire Structure?
Yes, you can. However, the problem is that many free plugins available for WordPress website updates (like Eazy Plugin Manager) are fully automated and don’t check for any broken forms or pages after completing the updates. We’ve seen this time and time again.
Structure’s WordPress Website Maintenance packages are semi-automated. That means you get a perfect plugin’s streamlined process and efficiency with a team committed to monitoring your website, providing quality assurance and support, regular updates and maintenance, and expert advice when needed. We’re the right choice if you want a worry-free option to keep your website running smoothly.
What about website security? Do you ensure our site is safe and secure?
Absolutely. Managing your website means keeping attackers out while ensuring it performs at its highest possible level.
Depending on your web host, they will have safe and secure or sketchy servers. Ideally, you’ll be using a quality hosting provider that monitors security at a server level at their data centers.
Additionally, the size of your site and overall security precautions will determine your exact security setup. We typically deploy a WordPress security plugin like Wordfence to provide CMS-level protection to be extra safe.
Suppose security is a high concern for you; your team wants to mitigate DDoS attacks or stop malicious bot abuse. In that case, you can always add Specialized Development to your plan at any time to hire our help implementing additional levels of security such as Cloudflare.
Do you do anything to stop malicious comments and spam?
We always get this question, and, lucky for you, have eliminated many comments and spam issues over the years.
The most common form of spam is low-quality comments that only serve as a backlink. These comments are usually vague, don’t relate to your article, and provide no value.
Another common form of spam is contact forms. These bot submissions are usually vague, don’t relate to your article, and do not benefit your business.
To prevent such comment spam from taking over your website, we always set up anti-spam measures on your website. This will help ensure that any potential floods of spammy comments never make it onto your site in the first place.
Suppose you’re on the Business WordPress Website Maintenance plan. In that case, you can use your additional support hours to request specific adjustments to your website, such as disabling comments or adding a honeypot, CAPTCHA, or conditional submit button.
If you’re on the Essentials WordPress Website Maintenance plan, you can always add Specialized Development to your plan to hire our help in abating spam.
Do you fix dead or broken links as a part of your management packages?
The dead or broken link is what our clients complain about most when they try to manage their websites. This is a link on a page or search engine that goes nowhere. Tack that up as a bad experience for potential customers.
These broken links can come from several sources. It could be from links to external sites that have changed their address or closed or from internal links. Or, most commonly, you change the link of a page on your website, and it breaks all other internal links leading to that page.
All our WordPress Management Packages include setting up functionality that will automatically check on reports of 404 errors on your site and take time to run a links check on your external and internal links to ensure everything is still connected. Additionally, this functionality will automatically set a 301 redirect for any URL you change to eliminate the possibility of broken links at the source.
